What is Jutro Digital Platform?

Jutro Digital Platform is a set of tools, services, and features that lets insurance frontend developers build modern Web applications leveraging a full range of Guidewire Cloud services. With Jutro Digital Platform you, as a developer, can create the personalized P&C experiences you want for your customers, connect Web user interfaces to Guidewire InsuranceSuite APIs in minutes, and easily control Web application deployments through new functionalities added to Guidewire Cloud Console. You don't need any infrastructure expertise at all.

The new Jutro Digital Platform extends the current capabilities of the Jutro Design System and UI framework. With these new platform capabilities, Guidewire Cloud customers will be able to build any Web application, for any user persona, and then manage and deploy that Web application via self service on Guidewire Cloud Console. In addition, customers may choose to leverage new purpose-built SDKs to enhance their development experience when building external Web applications (through their own tech stacks, or through Guidewire's partner network of low-code vendors)

You can create entire new Web applications for the P&C industry and customize the navigation flow, persona experience, UI layout, theming, and more. When you build Web applications with Jutro Digital Platform, you are leveraging the entirety of Guidewire Cloud's features, including secure, reliable, and scalable infrastructure, end-to-end analytics, and access to the broad set of Guidewire InsuranceSuite APIs.

Advantages of building with Jutro Digital Platform​

Jutro Digital Platform's greatest feature is its flexibility:

  • You can quickly build your own P&C customer experience from scratch using the Jutro Digital Platform frontend framework (based on React) - and run and manage your Jutro-based web applications on Guidewire Cloud infrastructure.
  • You can build your own portals and frontends on the web framework of your choosing and integrate them with Guidewire Cloud APIs using the platform’s purpose-built SDKs - with hosting on your own infrastructure, or other 3rd party hosting services such as Vercel or Netlify.
  • You can also "mix and match" the solutions to fit your business requirements and timelines. For example, you can embed a Jutro Digital Platform micro frontend for First Notice of Loss (running in Guidewire Cloud) into your corporate portal (hosted in a 3rd party service).

With Jutro Digital Platform, you can program your custom P&C Web applications, giving you control over how, when, and what to build and deploy. This is how insurers can focus on shipping tailored digital experiences instead of dealing with infrastructure or finding their way through the limitations of SaaS applications. These custom Web applications built with the platform tools and frameworks are also known as Jutro apps.

Main features of Jutro Digital Platform​

Jutro Digital Platform is a modular system composed of several purpose-built development tools and frameworks designed to simplify the experience of building modern Web applications for the P&C industry.

The platform includes the following main features:

  1. A Design System that includes a carefully elaborated set of design principles and guidelines along with React-based UI components that help you enforce these guidelines.
  2. A CLI tool that allows you to create, validate, or upgrade Jutro apps or generate product-definition metadata from Guidewire's Advanced Product Designer (APD).
  3. A management console, known as Jutro Web Apps, that provides you with a Web user interface to manage the deployment workflow of Jutro apps from development to production stages.
  4. A set of SDKs and helper libraries that simplify building React-based Web applications on Guidewire Cloud with features like integration with InsuranceSuite APIs, validation, authentication, and more.

In Guidewire's spirit of flexibility, you don't have to use all these tools and libraries to build and deploy Jutro apps. However, you would probably want to leverage as many of these features as possible to maximize the benefits of Guidewire Cloud.
