Workers' compensation claims

A workers' compensation claim (also referred to as a workers' comp claim) is a claim filed by a company on behalf of an injured worker. The claim is intended to address losses that result from medical treatment of the injured worker, lost wages due to the injury, and potentially court costs related to litigation if the worker initiates legal action.

From a processing standpoint, workers' compensation claims have requirements that are unlike claims for any other line of business. Therefore, ClaimCenter has behaviors that are specific to workers' comp claims. The following topic summarizes these behaviors. It also describes how to create workers' comp claims through Cloud API.

For more information on the business functionality of workers' comp claims, see the Application Guide.
