What is Jutro Digital Platform?

Jutro Digital Platform (JDP) is a set of tools, services, and features for insurance frontend developers. These tools allow you to build modern web applications, leveraging a full range of Guidewire Cloud services.

With Jutro Digital Platform you, as an insurer developer, can:

  • Create the personalized P&C experiences you want for your customers.
  • Connect web user interfaces to Guidewire InsuranceSuite APIs in minutes.
  • Control web application deployments through new functionalities added to Guidewire Cloud Platform.

You don't need any infrastructure expertise at all.

The new JDP extends the capabilities of the Jutro Design System and UI framework. These new capabilities allow Guidewire Cloud customers to build any web application, for any user persona. They can manage and deploy that application using self service on Guidewire Cloud Platform.

Customers can now leverage new purpose-built SDKs. This can enhance their development experience when building external web applications. They can do so through their own tech stacks, or through Guidewire's partner network of low-code vendors.

You can create entire new web applications for the P&C industry. You can customize the navigation flow, persona experience, UI layout, theming, and more. Building web applications with JDP, lets you leverage all Guidewire Cloud's features. This includes:

  • Secure, reliable, and scalable infrastructure.
  • End-to-end analytics.
  • Access to the broad set of Guidewire InsuranceSuite APIs.

JDP consists of flexible, modular tools and frameworks, to create React-based frontends. You can then host them on Guidewire Cloud or on your own infrastructure.

Advantages of building with Jutro Digital Platform​

Jutro Digital Platform's greatest feature is its flexibility. You can:

  • Build your own P&C customer experience from scratch. Using the JDP frontend framework (based on React). You can then run and manage your Jutro-based web apps on Guidewire Cloud infrastructure.
  • Build your own portals and frontends on the web framework of your choosing. Then integrate them with Guidewire Cloud APIs using the platform’s purpose-built SDKs. Host on your own infrastructure, or on third-party hosting services such as Vercel or Netlify.
  • 'Mix and match' the solutions to fit your business requirements and timelines. You can embed a JDP micro frontend for First Notice of Loss (running in Guidewire Cloud) into your corporate portal (hosted in a third-party service).

With JDP, you can program your custom P&C Web applications. This gives you control over how, when, and what to build and deploy. This is how insurers can focus on shipping tailored digital experiences. The alternative is dealing with infrastructure or navigating the limitations of SaaS applications. These custom web applications, built with the platform tools and frameworks, are also known as Jutro apps.

Main features of Jutro Digital Platform​

Jutro Digital Platform is a modular system of purpose-built development tools and frameworks. It simplifies how you build modern web applications for the P&C industry.

The platform includes the following main features:

  • A design system with a detailed set of design principles and guidelines. It also features React-based UI components that help you enforce these guidelines.
  • A CLI tool that allows you to create, validate, or upgrade Jutro apps. You can also use it to generate product-definition metadata from Guidewire's Advanced Product Designer (APD).
  • A management console, known as Jutro Web Apps. This is a web user interface to manage the deployment workflow of Jutro apps. Deployment workflow covers development to production stages.
  • SDKs and helper libraries that simplify building React-based web applications on Guidewire Cloud. This includes features like integration with InsuranceSuite APIs, validation, authentication, and more.

In Guidewire's spirit of flexibility, you don't have to use all these tools and libraries. But, to get the very most out of Guidewire Cloud, you will want to leverage as many of these features as possible.
