What's new
Build your InsuranceSuite extensions with Extension Layer
Extension Layer introduces a modular framework for building and enhancing the InsuranceSuite applications, replacing traditional customization models by isolating code into separate managed and unmanaged modules. By decoupling custom capabilities from core systems, Extension Layer significantly accelerates development cycles, improves quality through automated validations, and enables organizations to easily reuse, package, and share capabilities across tenants.
Depending on your technical goals, you can use Extension Layer with the following roles:
- Consumers evaluate and install pre-built extensions. If needed, consumers can tailor extensions by making carrier-specific adjustments in unmanaged modules.
- Producers create, test, package, and publish extensions to share across environments. Producers can manage their extensions in the Extension Manager app.
- Streamlined merges
Automated updates apply to the managed module, eliminating manual, error-prone three-way merges.
- Backward compatibility
Strict validation rules ensure upgraded managed modules seamlessly run alongside existing unmanaged modules without disrupting production operations.
