What's new

Guidewire Cloud terminology updated (GWCP-68020)

To make the Cloud Platform infrastructure organization more transparent, Guidewire uses the astronomy metaphor for classifying resources. The terminology changes as follows:
Previous term New term Definition
Logical star system Star A star represents a business unit or shared services group within a tenant that your company wants to manage separately on the Cloud Platform.
Physical star system Star system A star system is a group of planets that share Cloud Platform services. There are non-production star systems for development and testing, and a production star system.
Planet class Orbit A planet orbit specifies the purpose of a planet and code promotion paths.

Additionally, asteroid has a new definition. Asteroid is a special type of planet that is designed to support containerized workloads created by Guidewire, your company, or third-party software providers. Planets and asteroids can share Dev and PreProd orbits.
