Deploy Guidewire applications

Use Cloud Platform to develop, build, deploy, and access your applications and add-ons, as well as observe their performance. You can deploy to:

  • Development planets to develop your code and build applications in TeamCity.
  • Pre-production planets to test your applications with real user data.
  • Production planets to make your applications available to your end-users.
Deploy InsuranceSuite apps to development and production planets, using one of three deployment types.
Deploy EnterpriseEngage apps to development and production planets. You can use multiple application instances.
Deploy a running instance of a Jutro app to pre-production and production star systems.
Deploy integration apps to connect InsuranceSuite applications with external applications or internal systems.
Deploy Solr to extend InsuranceSuite apps with free text search capabilities.

Deployment as part of CI/CD

During continuous integration and continuous delivery cycles (CI/CD), you deploy applications and add-ons to the following types of planets:

  • Development (non-production)

Deploy on development planets to check and test initial versions of your applications and add-ons.

  • Pre-production

Promote your applications and add-ons to pre-production planets and deploy to do more extensive testing, with real-world scenarios and data.

  • Production

After successful testing in pre-production, deploy your applications and add-ons to production planets where they become live and available to end-users.

For details, see:

Depending on the role that you have in your organization, you'll have different tasks and credentials related to the development of applications.

There are typically the following two roles that deal with deployments:

  • Developers

Developers create, develop, and initially deploy applications and add-ons. They typically deploy the applications to development planets for initial testing and validation. They continuously refine and improve the applications and add-ons based on feedback and test results.

  • Administrators

Administrators manage the promotion of applications from development planets to higher planets. They ensure that the target planets (pre-production and production) are properly configured and ready for deployments.

They're responsible for deployments to pre-production and production planets.

Administrators also monitor the performance of applications and add-ons in production, manage updates, and troubleshoot.

Access deployments from Guidewire Home

In Guidewire Home, you can check the summary of all your deployments on all the planets. You can also check the statuses of all your applications and add-ons. For details, see Guidewire Home.
