View all planets
From the Planets app, you can check the list of planets that are created in your star system and create new ones. You can also see the status of applications that are configured on these planets.
To view the list of planets in Guidewire Home:
- Select a star system.
- From Apps
, select Planets or select it from your pinned apps.
Available actions
On the planet list, you can see all the planets created for this star system, their orbits (planet classes), and the statuses of applications added to these planets. Select a planet to check planet settings and manage your applications.
You can also check a star system ID and access application resources.
Check an orbit (planet class)
In the planet list, an orbit of a planet is visible next to the planet name.
An orbit specifies the purpose of a planet and represent the basic Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) phases. The following orbits are available:

Dev
Planets for development.

QA
Testing planets.

UAT
Planets for user acceptance tests.

PreProd
Pre-production planets, for example dryrun, on which you can test new builds with a production database.

Prod
Production planets.
Orbits (planet classes) are grouped into non-production and production. The non-production orbits are for development and testing. The production orbit is for production deployments.
Check an application status
In Planets, you can see the following deployment statuses of your applications:
Configured
, which means that the application is ready to be deployed.Deploying
.Stopped
.Failed
.Deployed
.
If there is no status next to the application name, you need to configure this application.
For details on the status of an application, select a planet. From Applications and add-ons, select an application.
